ALL WE CARRY
After escaping violence in Honduras and joining the migrant caravan,
a young family finds safe haven in a borrowed Seattle mansion,
and navigates the joys and pains of starting over in America.

and navigates the joys and pains of starting over in America.
Spanning three years of their lives, All We Carry follows a young family—Magdiel, Mirna, and their son, Joshua—as they flee Honduras on foot and ride in cargo trains across Mexico, claim asylum at the US border, and endure detention before being released to live with extended family in Seattle, Washington. It’s then that the young family’s fortune suddenly changes—a West Seattle synagogue offers to sponsor them, lending the family an empty beachfront home to live in while they await the immigration hearing that will decide their fate.
With their immediate needs met, Mirna and Magdiel are afforded the burdens and blessings that come with finally processing the events that forced them to flee and growing their family while missing those they’ve lost and left behind. All We Carry gives an intimate, personal window into a life in limbo while seeking asylum in the United States.
